Battle of Sexes

Kolkata witnessed a Trojan battle between the two sexes while Metro Railway tried to run two ladies compartments from 1st to 7th September. The so called power provided by metro railways, gave the women traveling through the metro, immense feministic pleasure to force the men out of the compartment.

The battle used to start between the races while coming back to home after a days work. Starting with the claim to make the compartment gents-free the struggle used to end on a more stupid note on discussing who is more important to the mankind. Listening to the ladies about what they feel about their male co-passengers will certainly never be a pleasure to your ear. However, the situation got worst when men tried to jam the metro traffic by stepping into the sliding doors in the morning, demanding no separate compartments for ladies as they are facing hazardous rush and some other reasons?

Finally on Monday morning (sep8) ‘satrur mukhe chhai diye ‘ metro rail decided to end the dispute once and for all and the resumed the previous ‘normalcy’. Guess what happened after?

Dum dum station, 10:00am; Sep 8:

  1. A few women started protesting against the move
  2. A few men started shouting even louder defining the meaning of ‘woman’, which cannot be decided except the men in their lives.

Metro Rail-running train:

  1. Men started commenting how the railway took an abrupt decision to put them in soup for a week. However, they felt good at last the evil forces got perished.
  2. Women started shouting again stating the need of a separate compartment and tried their level best to point it to the million-headed monsters how they ill-treat them and how they should treat them as mothers and sisters…

This is going so far in the city regarding the new endeavor, a daring step to take in a place which never tolerates abrupt changes.
