Font-Aid-Bangla Reader's Choice Book Review

Once a part of Colonial Quarters of British Calcutta (like any great city, Calcutta has many cities within it and in each historical cycle these concentric cities change their area of influence), now a famed Cricket Stadium.  The field has witnessed the victory lap of Australian Steve Waugh and by some eternal pull of the city; Steve had become a member of the city.

I had been only once to this Sporting Arena some twenty years back and remember one old Bengali gentleman offering me a paper hat. This was the time when Calcutta was still undecided culturally. Within two decades, Cricket, Eden and almost all her institutions will be taken over by a money making cartel and the game, the players and the viewers will be equated with those Roman mobs that were playthings at the hand of Ceasar.

Mr. Ganguly – ex-captain of India and who has some exploits in this garden as well, also demonstrate that the money cartel is able to buy greatness now. Or why one of the finest holder of willow should be an errand boy for a man whose only association with criket seemed to be the financial ability to pay the gladiators?

Calcutta somewhere in 1950s.  One day, some historian will undertake the ask of writing the history of advertisement and then we will discover many subterrenean truths.

I just wondered, it is still possible to know how was advertisement in 1950s. Will it be possible in 2030 to know the online advertisements that we see now? Internet is a history eraser.
